 Hi! I'm Stephanie and welcome to Beyond Me Family Care & Counseling! 

 I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Slidell, LA, who works with a diverse range of individuals across the lifespan, including adolescents, young adults, and adults. My areas of expertise include working as a Behavioral Health Therapist with youth, families, and individuals struggling with substance dependence issues. I also specialize in helping adolescents transition out of the foster care system, individuals who have experienced homelessness, Veterans, previously incarcerated men and women, and those who have been exposed to trauma.

I work as a coach, using an emotion-focused and faith-based therapeutic perspective. According to the spiritual meaning, the heart is the internal center of man’s will and emotions. Scientific research has identified emotions as an essential factor in adaptive and maladaptive functioning due to emotions guiding one’s actions.

My approach involves uplifting and motivating clients to work on positive recovery capital such as hope, resilience, trust, and self-efficacy. When a client first comes in, I create a warm and accepting environment without judgment. Empathy and unconditional positive regard are essential techniques that I use to support my clients to feel comfortable and hopeful.

I am also a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), Certified Belief Therapist, and Certified Symbis Pre-Marital Facilitator and a qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) with the Louisiana Department of Transportation (DOT). I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Tulane University and a master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialty in Forensic Counseling from Walden University.
